Being Remembered Means Different Things to Different People

Perhaps you’d like a small service and a tea reception where friends will gather to remember you. Maybe you’d like something more elaborate, or something very simple. Remember Me helps you create an event that suits your life by:

  • Talking to you about your preferences and the options available to you.
  • Taking your spiritual and cultural beliefs into consideration.
  • Consulting with your family, friends, and care team.
  • Working within your budget.

Being Remembered in Your Community
You've contributed to your community by participating in activities and making lasting friendships. Why not be celebrated there as well? Remember Me lets you be remembered in your community by:

  • Holding remembrance services in the place you call home, whether that's a retirement home, assisted living center, long-term care facility, or hospice.
  • Creating meaningful opportunities to remember you, such as sharing memories over a favourite recipe, decorating a room with flowers, or hosting a tea to raise funds for a cause that's important to you.

When you make the transition from your own home to a retirement or long-term care community, you or your family will be asked to have a funeral provider in place. Because Remember Me is part of the care home’s internal community, you will have the opportunity to meet with us. If you live in a home and you haven’t met us yet, ask your care provider to incorporate Remember Me services into its health care continuum.

Where Aging-in-Place Includes Being Remembered

Your family and care team have discussed your plan-of-care with you: your dietary needs, physiotherapy requirements, and medication schedules. But what about your care needs after life has ended? Remember Me completes the continuum of care by:

  • Explaining your options and helping you make a plan.
  • Providing peace of mind for you and taking care of all the details when the time comes.

Many residents become close friends while living as neighbours, joining in the same activities, and sharing meals together. When one of those residents dies, Remember Me helps by bringing together their peers, their families, other residents, and care team, providing them with an opportunity to say goodbye and share in the collected loss of a friend.

Together, We Create A Plan for How You Want to be Remembered

Remember Me completes the continuum of care in long-term and retirement home settings – becoming an integral member of the care team. We help residents, families, and care staff to celebrate lives within the community.
